Awesome drama
Thanks to the drama team at North Albemarle Baptist Church for performing this during Go, the See You at the Pole Rally put on by That Youth Thing. It was a couple of weeks ago, but today marks the day that this video passed 1,000 views on YouTube.
I love watching God’s message spread.
Revival update
We’ve had 2 great nights at Alum Springs Baptist Church in Culpeper, VA. I’m so honored to be a part of a church trying to do something different. As Einstein said, insanity is doing the same things and expecting different results. So hats off to Alum Springs for trying something different during their revival this year.
What’s different? Instead of just having three nights of church services as usual with a guest speaker, they asked me to come in and speak practically about the whys of sharing our faith with others and then do some very basic training on how they can do that. The people who have attended have been extremely willing to step out of their comfort zones and try new things. We’ve talked about who we’re looking at (ourselves, religion, or the lost) and whether or not we’re visible to the hurting around us. Methods we’ve explored for sharing our faith have been the J-Turn and the One-Verse method. Both are very simple and natural ways of having “normal” conversations about Christ.
It all wraps up tonight and I expect God to continue the work in Culpeper when I leave tomorrow. He loves to do new things in old places through willing hearts!
Be visible
Acts 3:3
When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.
I’m sure you’ve seen them. They’re at almost every street corner or traffic light in most large cities and have even made their way into smaller towns across the country.
Back in the day, they’d stand there with a sign that said they’d work for food. Shoot, some of them even started getting honest about what they’d do with the money. The guy in our picture had some fun with the method of asking for help. But the bottom line is, they’re all asking for money. But that’s not my point, nor the point of the verse this week. The point is that a beggar saw somebody to ask for help. Let me explain…
I’m in Culpeper, VA!
Arrived here a few hours ago and am leaving for the church in a few minutes. I am believing God to divinely use me to speak HIS message to the people who gather at Alum Springs Baptist Church over the next 3 nights. I’ll post more during the week…
Q Chew 1
Here’s a quote to chew on:
“Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.”
-Charles Spurgeon
