Undeniable proof
What if I told you that there was a way for you to convince everyone around you that God sent Jesus to this world to save them? Would you at least be a little curious about how that could happen?
It’s probably the best kept secret in the church today, although it was never intended to be a secret. In fact, Jesus prayed about it and the Holy Spirit led John to write about it so that you and I could know about it! It was the night before Jesus gave His life for us when He prayed the following:
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” (John 17:21 NLT, emphasis mine)
Jesus prayed that we would be the undeniable proof of what He was sent to do. First, notice what that proof isn’t. Jesus didn’t pray that we would be…

You get the point. There isn’t anything inherently wrong with any of the things I just listed. It’s just that none of those are what Jesus prayed that we would be.
He prayed that we would be ONE. That we’d put down the preferences that divide us in favor of the presence that unites us. He wanted us to show a world that only knows how to divide that there is a kingdom that only wants to unite. He knew that when people who don’t like each other choose to begin to love each other, the world would have to take notice.
[Tweet “Jesus wants us to show a world that only knows how to divide that there is a kingdom that only wants to unite.”]Today, in big and small ways, let’s be the answer to His prayer. Let’s live in unbreakable unity and deliver undeniable proof to a world that is watching.
