Tell someone
Earlier this morning, I read the story of how a young Jewish man became a follower of Jesus. He told about how he dabbled in drugs and Eastern religions and New Age philosophies before encountering Jesus in powerfully supernatural ways that convinced this young man that Jesus is the Messiah.
I also read another spectacular testimony of a young lady who is a Christian artist. She’s been involved in church life and ministry her entire life and never did the “bad” things so often associated with a “great” testimony.
Both were different, and yet both were spectacular. The elements of the two stores were different, but the essence of them was the same.
They both encountered Jesus and said yes to a life of following Him.
If you’re a follower of Jesus, you have a spectacular story, too. I want to challenge you to dust that story off and share it with someone. Tell someone your story today because it’s the telling of the story that brings the breakthrough.
They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11 NIV, emphasis mine)
The enemy isn’t defeated by the blood of Jesus and our testimony. He’s defeated by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. It’s in the telling that we experience the breakthrough.
So go tell someone how you met Jesus. Talk about how He said your name, and it changed everything. How He looked into your eyes, and you never wanted to look away.
Tell someone how Jesus changed and is changing your life, and you’ll bring power into their situation that just might lead them to the breakthrough they’ve needed, too.
