I’ve noticed a tendency in my life to overlook small things. It’s understandable, of course, and yet we can miss some significant truths if we overlook one small word that appears frequently in the Bible.
Let me take a minute to highlight it in a few verses:
The Lord is righteous in all His ways And kind in all His deeds. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. (Psalms 145:17-18 NASB, emphasis mine)
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV, emphasis mine)
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15 NIV, emphasis mine)
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 NIV, emphasis mine)
All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal. (Psalms 119:160 NIV, emphasis mine)
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23 NIV, emphasis mine)
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. (Proverbs 17:17 NIV, emphasis mine)
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.(Jeremiah 29:13 NIV, emphasis mine)
“All” means all, y’all. It is a big small word that we can’t afford to overlook. It means that you and I are no exception to the promises and commands. It means that the situations you and I may be facing don’t fall outside of God’s power to rescue and redeem. He makes all things new. Don’t believe for a second the lies of an enemy who wants you to overlook that truth.
