A Super prediction

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Today’s the day – the Super Bowl kicks off a little after 6 pm EST and here’s what I think will happen…

First Quarter: Both teams start with their strengths – Patriots through the air and Giants on the ground. Giants defense holds strong and the quarter ends with the Pats up 7-3.

Second Quarter: Manning hits a couple short passes that end up with a lot of yards after the catch. Giants front 7 get 2 big time sacks on Brady and a turnover. Giants go in with a 16-14 halftime lead and America braces for a terrible halftime show.

Third Quarter: Patriots and Giants both go 3 and out in their first 2 possessions. Patriots intercept Manning and return it deep into Giants territory. Brady takes care of the rest and they finish the quarter holding the G-Men scoreless. Pats hold a 24-16 lead after 3.

Fourth Quarter: Brandon Jacobs scores on a 5-yard run to cap an 11 play, 86 yard drive to pull the Giants to within 24-23. Brady answers with a 5 minute drive that stalls in the Giants red zone. Pats field goal stretches out the lead to 27-23 and leaves Manning with 3:35 left and 2 timeouts. The Giants convert 2 big 3rd down plays during the drive that ends with a Manning to Jacobs 9 yard touchdown pass with just over a minute left. Brady leads the Patriots into Giants territory but a Brady sack ends the drive and the Patriots hope of a perfect season.

Final score: Giants 30, Patriots 27. Manning is the Super Bowl MVP.
