This past week I got interviewed by Linda Furr of The Curiosity Shop, a local radio ministry. We’re going to edit the original footage to edit out the parts that aren’t specifically about 704 or our ministry with That Youth Thing, but you can take a listen to what aired on the radio over the week-end if you want to. It’s been something that has been discussed, dreamed, planned, and debated for years, but once again That Youth Thing is making a push to bring a youth center to the students of Stanly County. With just under 12,000 students in the area, there has never been more of a need than there is now to provide them a place to go that will close the ever-increasing gap between the church and their culture. Our prayer is that 704 will be able to do just that. You can follow the movement at the official campaign website, make704happen.com.

The theme for this year’s Stanly County Youth Revival is “IGNITE” and I’m going to be involved on a number of levels. That Youth Thing’s worship band will be leading the music each night and I’m speaking the last 2 nights. In a “full circle” kind of occurrence, the speaker for the first 2 nights is Adrian Dupres, a great guy who I went to seminary with and actually bought a mobile home from way back in yesteryear!

40 Rocks Design Studio also got to design the fliers for this year’s revival and what we came up with is the image above. Phil Baucom came up with the cool flame logo in the bottom right corner of the poster. I am surrounded by cool people, and that makes my life a lot fuller and a whole lot more fun!
