I heard someone reading Exodus 33:14 this morning, and I smiled. I think you all, too.
The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”(Exodus 33:14 NIV)
Who couldn’t use some rest right now? Especially 10 days from Christmas!!
But as I focused more and more on the promise of rest, the Spirit nudged me to keep reading.
Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” (Exodus 33:15-16 NIV, emphasis mine)
The passage isn’t just about rest, if it’s even about rest. It’s about a passion to live in His presence because only His presence will distinguish us from every other group of people on the planet.
Live distinguished today. Be known as a person of His presence, and you’ll find a rest that you’ve never known and that others will want to know.
