Engaging the automatic

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Dishwashers wash dishes.

Cars detect blind spots.

Bill Pay makes sure we aren’t late.

Each of these automatic features can make life easier, but none of them make me obsolete.

I have to load the dishes in the dishwasher.

I have to push the start button and drive the car.

I have to set up Bill Pay and make sure there is money in the account, which requires that I work.

Automatic isn’t as automatic as we’d like, and that’s a good thing.

Stay engaged, and refuse to sit back and just let things happen.
