Even when it’s hard

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I made it halfway through the month of posting every day without it being hard, but today got full, and here I am staring at the clock, and realizing I’ve got less than two hours to write.

That’s not good, and every so often, things just aren’t good.

Life happens. Unexpected phone calls happen. Good conversations take longer than expected, and time slips away. The question isn’t will those things happen, but what will we do when those things happen?

We press on or, in my case, we post on. 😀

Even when it’s hard.

Hard things don’t have to stop us; in fact, they should be the things that strengthen us.

More resistance makes us stronger, unless we believe that everything should come easy. If we believe that, then we’ll never move past even a hint of difficulty.

Maybe that’s why so many people seem to lose hope, focus, and commitment when things get hard? Maybe we’ve been looking in the wrong places for hope?

A new job. A new city. A new relationship. A new church, school, or hobby.

But ultimately, the new wears off, and we’re left with the reality that our hope was in temporary things.

We don’t have hope because life is good, or because people are good. We have hope because God is good.

We don’t have hope because life is good, or because people are good. We have hope because God is good. Share on X

That’s who we lean on, even — and especially — when it’s hard.
