First Ultra Eve

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Random thoughts on the night before my first attempt at an ultra marathon:

  • I should be asleep. Instead I’m awake.
  • Most people think you’re an idiot for running a marathon. What kind of idiot runs more than a marathon?
  • I need to walk more than I think I need to walk.
  • I forgot! I am an idiot. I officially became one last year at The Idiot Run.
  • I’m getting tired. That’s good, right?
  • I’m so glad I asked Phil to preach on Sunday. Standing may be a challenge the day after my first ultra. Heck, not drooling during Phil’s sermon may prove a difficult task!
  • I’m excited about finding that there is more in me than I’ve tapped into.
  • I’m tired. Good night.
