DAY THIRTY-FOUR (2 Chronicles 23:16 – 35:15)
2 Chronicles 24:17-18 – The power and influence of mentorship.
2 Chronicles 30:27 – Apparently it is possible that our prayers would not reach heaven.
Nowadays it’s become quite chic to argue whether or not pastors should be paid by the churches they serve, and it’s very trendy to be bi-vocational. I’m not arguing against that, or denying that the pastorate as a whole at times seems to be overpaid for the passion they show for equipping the saints, but 2 Chronicles 31:4 makes it clear that the priesthood was to receive full-time pay specifically so that they could devote themselves to full-time teaching of the law.
2 Chronicles 31:20-12 – a good formula for having a successful life.
The only proper response to the accusations of men? Talk to God about it. (2 Chronicles 32:20)
2 Chronicles 32:31 – it seems that sometimes the silence of God may be a time for us to prove ourselves faithful.
