G90X - The Bible in 90 Days at The Gathering

DAYS THIRTEEN, FOURTEEN, & FIFTEEN (Numbers 32:20 – Deuteronomy 34)

With a week-end that involved about 9 hours of driving and running a half-marathon, I was able to get all the reading done by using the audio feature of YouVersion.  The good thing is that I was able to drive without wrecking while listening to the passages.  The bad news is that it made it very difficult to make notes, although I did try to record some with the voice memo app on my phone.  Here are some of the observations I made:

Deuteronomy 1:41-44 is a parallel to our fight against our old, sinful nature.  We think the fight will be easy and so we go without the Lord’s presence.  Just like the Israelites, we get our butts kicked.

The fire of God was the evidence of His presence on earth in Deut. 4:36.  It still is.

We’ve always got to guard against sign-seeking.  If signs were the end-all of everything, then God’s people might have followed the false prophet in Deut. 13:1-3.

One of the better stories in the reading is found in Deut. 25:7-10.  A little bizarre, but it cracked me up that some family could be known as The Family of the Unsandaled.
