Gamecocks rule the roost

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a pretty weird game, South Carolina seemed like they got outplayed all night long and yet they still beat SEC StandingsKentucky to take first place in the SEC East.

It’s funny how odd it sounded before the season when Steve Spurrier said the Gamecocks were ready to compete for the SEC title, but now it doesn’t seem quite as far-fetched. Of course, they’ve still got some tough games ahead of them (at UT and Arkansas and home against the Gators) and they could lose all three and end up watching the SEC Championship game from a couch somewhere.

But seeing them on top of the standings and having the head-to-head tiebreaker with Georgia and Kentucky, I’m liking where they stand today. You got to feel like if they can win 2 of their last 3 conference games, a 5-2 conference record could be enough (especially if one of those wins is against Florida).

Game – Cocks!
Game – Cocks!

(Man, I would’ve loved to have been in Columbia last night)

  1. You know the Tarheels used up all they had trying to hold on against Miami. Saturday will be fun. Finally, the “Carolina” debate will be put to rest.

  2. We own “Carolina” regardless of Saturday, due to the fact that the Holy Spirit dwells in the Dean Dome. Go win 5 National Championships in basketball and you can have “Carolina.” (We did use all our football ‘skill’ up by the way…)
