Reading Time: 2 minutes

Over the last week or so, the world has lost its collective mind over a pair of shoes that contain 1 drop of human blood. Called Satan Shoes because they feature an inverted cross, a pentagram, and only 666 pairs were made, they sold out in less than a minute.

The uproar made me think a few thoughts, and here they are in no particular order:

First: Satan wears shoes?

Second: people really don’t understand the power that they are dealing with when they partner with evil. I’m convinced that Satan is thrilled when people think he’s just a marketing tool.

Third: a pair of Satan Shoes cost $1,018. That’s an expensive drop of blood! With today being Good Friday, I’ve been thinking about the blood that Jesus shed on the cross, and about what a powerful message the cross sends to all of us about the generous heart of the Father.

When it comes to one drop of blood, you and I don’t need the drop in the shoes marketed by Satan because that drop of blood has no power. But one drop of Jesus’ blood can wash our sins as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18).

But Jesus didn’t just give us one drop because that’s not the way the Father operates. He doesn’t charge us a lot for a little. Instead, He freely gives what is too valuable for us to afford. The cross was a brutal display of blood — more than enough blood to cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) and cast our sin as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).

[Tweet “Unlike Satan, God doesn’t charge a lot for a little. Instead, He offers it all, delivers it all, and He pays for it all.”]

Satan offers a lot, delivers little, and leaves us with the bill.

God offers it all, delivers it all, and pays for it all.

And that’s why Satan’s shoes will never stand up to the King’s feet (Genesis 3:15).
