Soreness is a sign

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Have you ever worked out and woken up sore the next day? Maybe you lifted weights and the muscles that you targeted in the workout are off limits for being touched, or you ran, and now your legs are sore?

In those times, no one tends to get upset at the soreness because they recognize that soreness in the body is a result of the body being pushed past its comfort zone to get stronger. In fact, we tend to wear the soreness like a badge of honor. “Oh, my arms are SOOOOOO sore today? I really worked my biceps hard yesterday.”

What about in the body of Christ? Could it be that soreness in this body works similarly? That this body also feels sore when pushed past its comfort zone and stressed in places that need to be stronger? Of course, it is. But instead of seeing soreness as a sign of weakness or a signal of a problem, we should celebrate that our Father is exercising His body and preparing us for greater things to come.
