100 Pushups: W5,Ds 1,2,3

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Here are the workout results for Week 5 in the hundredpushups.com challenge. It’s the first week that I will have to repeat, because I couldn’t hit the numbers required on the D1 and D3 sets. D1 was my worst – I only hit the target number in my first 2 sets. D3 was much better – I hit all the targets except for the final set. Here is the damage:

100 pushups W5D1: 40-32-15(30)-15(25)-[11(40)] for a total of 113 push ups

100 pushups W5D2: 20-20-18-18-15-15-14-[40] for a total of 160 push ups

100 pushups W5D3: 18-18-16-16-14-14-12-[20(40)] for a total of 128 push ups

Throw in my “see how many push ups you can do without stopping” test at the beginning of the week (which was 67 if you’re curious), and I did 468 push ups this week. Next week I’ll wash, rinse, repeat Week 5. Hopefully with passing results.

100 Pushups: W4,Ds 1,2,3 and OHR update

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I realized that I didn’t blog a single time about this week’s hundredpushups.com challenge or my 8th week in the One Hour Runner training program, so we’ll just do it all in one post. Besides, that’s the way it should be since Friday’s a re ending days for the week-long segments in both programs. So, without further ado, let’s move on to the results. Envelope, please…

100 pushups W4D1: 27-20-20-17-[33] for a total of 117 push ups

100 pushups W4D2: 27-21-21-18-[35] for a total of 120 push ups

100 pushups W4D3: 30-22-22-20-[41] for a total of 135 push ups

So, it’s onto Week 5. I was surprised how well this week went because I barely got the required numbers done at the end of Week 3. I think I figured out that it’s better to do the push ups before I run. And speaking of running, I logged my last run of Week 8 in the OHR program. It was my longest to date – 49 minutes covering 4.71 miles. Very cool stuff. I was amazed how good I felt during the run, and I don’t think I’ll have any trouble competing in the Nike+ Human Race 10k at the end of the month. I can’t wait!

Push up chart from Google Docs

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Google Docs is a phenomenal tool. We use it quite a bit over at 704 to keep up with presentations and stuff. I decided to try it out for logging my push up totals. Here’s the chart that I came up with.
