Every so often, we just need to be reminded about realities that we already know. Consider this that reminder.
He can only do 3 things. We know this because Jesus said so in John 10:10.
He steals.
He kills.
He destroys.
That’s it. He can do nothing else. So anytime we find ourselves in a place where things like peace, love, joy, forgiveness, and direction are gone, then we can rightly determine that the decisions we made before those things started disappearing weren’t inspired by God.
God will never lead us to a place where we find ourselves stolen from, killed, or destroyed.
The enemy leads us to those places, and even though he only has three plays, he’s really good at them.
What’s the best way to recognize his plays? By knowing the playbook given to us by God.
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. (Psalms 119:9 NIV)
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Psalms 119:11 NIV)
Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors. (Psalms 119:24 NIV)
I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding. (Psalms 119:32 NIV)
Heck, I could just copy and paste the entire 119th Psalm, but to save space, just promise that you’ll read it today. It’s full of encouragement and promises about how loving and living God’s word can keep us protected from and aware of our enemy’s three plays.
