Tons of blood. Really small cut.

Reading Time: 2 minutes

So today I took the boys and Sydney swimming with their cousin, Vance, and my sister, Mary. We had a great time but had only been in the pool about 10 minutes when we heard Will come up from the deep end screaming bloody murder. Seriously, the first thing that went through my mind was, “How’d a shark get in the pool and why did it bite Will?”

Anyway, Will climbed up the ladder to get out and, even from about 40 feet away I could see blood dripping from his foot. He left bloody footprints beside the pool all the way until he got to the retaining wall and sat down. That’s where he left the pool of blood in the picture. You can see, too, that his foot was completely covered in the red stuff. I started counting his toes to make sure they were still all there!

After pouring peroxide over his foot and finally being able to see the source of the cut, I couldn’t believe how small it was in proportion to the amount of blood we’d seen. We still couldn’t figure out what sliced the bottom of his foot, but it did a number on him, that’s for sure. Thankfully, he was able to swim another hour or so before we had to leave.

Pictures of the event…
