When the head is clogged

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I went to bed last night with the beginnings of a head cold, and there are few things that I despise more than a head cold. They make you feel bad enough that you can’t really focus, but you aren’t so bad off that people understand why you want to stay in bed all day.

In other words, head colds may not actually stop us, but they can effectively stop us. There’s a lesson in that. When the head isn’t clear, the body isn’t going to function at its best.

I woke up later. I’ve moved slower. There have been a ton of breaks for me to blow junk out of my nose.

Now, I’m writing later.

The point is that we can still get things done with a head cold, but we aren’t as effective as we would be with a head that’s clear and doesn’t feel like it weighs 50 pounds.

Spiritually, the same thing happens when there’s a clog somewhere between the head and the body. Normal tasks feel harder. The power that we need doesn’t seem to flow as readily. All we want to do is stop.

But God is doing something in this time. It is a time of growing clarity in the house. It is a time of increased order in the body’s structure. We are seeing the Head of the church more clearly, and as a result, the body is moving with more boldness and passion.

Clarity brings unity, and unity brings blessing. Pursue a clear vision of Jesus, and the rest will follow.

Selah.
