Worth it

Reading Time: < 1 minute

As I’ve read and studied the Biblical story about the lost son — perhaps you know it as The Prodigal Son — I’ve found myself awed by how God brings out the smallest details for me. I’m confident that He would do the same for you as you read it, and I would encourage you to make Luke 15 a regular part of your Bible reading routine.

This morning, I am struck by the fact that the father kept looking for the younger son’s return, but not for the usual reason.

The daily practice of keeping his eyes on the road that led to his home has always spoken to me about the father’s deep love for his son. But as I marinated on it today, the Spirit whispered, “You’re worth looking for.”

A son who had squandered everything was worth looking for every day! A revelation of our worth to the Father will change everything. You and me — just like that younger son — are worth it to God.

Selah.
